Today is a bittersweet day for our family.
The papers completing the sale of our house have been signed and the new owners will move in to our old house and start their new adventure.
As I walked through each room, for one last time, last night, I couldn’t help but get a little emotional and teary eyed. So many memories came flooding back.
This house wasn’t just a house … it was our home.
So Many Memories
This house was the gathering place for so many family moments: Christmases, birthdays, anniversaries. It’s where we engaged in meaningful conversations with good friends. It’s where my two daughters took their first steps. It’s where countless games of pick-up hockey took place – both in the driveway and on the ice rink we had for a few winters. It’s where the sounds of laughing children could be heard coming for the pool in the back yard. It’s the place where tears were shed and laughter was heard. It’s where music was made and where dancing took place. It’s where tired souls came to rest and snuggling took place.
It’s where love and family made a house a home.
For thirteen years, this house was a major character in the story of our family. Last night, in our own way, the five of us said goodbye to this place we’ve called home. I am convinced that the new owners will find it the perfect house for them and soon, they’ll call it home.
Thanks for the memories old friend. You’ll be missed but you’ll always be part of our story.
Now, on to the next chapter of our story!
Be well and make it a great day!
