Well it arrived today.
The snow came and, for my 4 year old daughter, this morning felt like Christmas. Even though we call Minnesota home and snow is part of life here, the first one is always special.
For the next few days, this first snow of the year will be the talk of the town. Every conversation will reference the snow and stories will be shared about how the kids reacted and whether we are really ready for winter.
I encourage you to take this opportunity to make the conversation about something more than just the first snow. As author Tommy Spaulding talks about in his book, It’s Not Just Who You Know (affiliate link), we should take the opportunity to elevate the conversation to something more than just N.S.W. (news, sports and weather). Use the weather as a conversation starter, but make it you mission to engage in a more meaningful conversation.
In the end, there is one thing I know for sure…. through conversations, life happens and finds meaning.
Welcome back Mr. Winter, I wish I could say you were missed!
