Soundtrack To My Life: April 2015 Edition
French is my first language and ever since I moved to the U.S., I must confess that I don’t speak as often as I should. Every time I return from a visit there and think back about being surrounded by the language I love and have spoken for all of my life, I find myself going back my youth and start listening to more French music.
Carla Bruni’s latest album found it’s way back on my playlist and I wanted to share it with you. It’s a great album and full of great songs. My favorite one is titled “Keith et Anita” – it’s really catchy and her vocal performance is splendid. I also really enjoy the track called “Little French Song” – she switches between french and english during the song and it gives the entire track an interesting flavor!
She’s got a very unique quality to her voice and it’s both joyful and full of emotion.
French music may not be your thing, but I do recommend you give this album a listen. Grab a glass of wine and enjoy! I know it will bring a smile to your face.
Carla Bruni was a recent guest on the Public Radio show Studio 360 with Kurt Andersen. You can listen to the interview below.
Thanks for joining me for this edition of “Soundtrack To My Life”.
Be well and make it a great day!
