We face obstacles every day.
Everyone hits a wall every now and then. Obstacles come in many shapes and sizes. Some are real and others are perceived. Sometimes, we get in our own way and put up barriers.
In the face of these external and internal obstacles, a natural reflex would be to quit, withdraw or even disengage. But most of us don’t. We find the strength to carry on, to keep moving.
Because we know that it takes strength to believe that we can. We know that it takes strength to push through the chorus of negative voices. We know that it takes strength to believe that hope is stronger than fear.
For the past two week’s the chorus of Sara Groves’ “Enough” has been at the forefront of my mind:
Really we don’t need much
Just strength to believe
There’s honey in the rock,
There’s more than we see
In these patches of joy
These stretches of sorrow
There’s enough for today
There will be enough tomorrow
Every obstacles presents us with an opportunity find a work-around. They provided us with an opportunity to get creative and find a new way to move forward.
Sara Groves is right when she states “we don’t need much, just the strength to believe.” Don’t let life’s obstacles block the way forward. Dig deep and find the strength to believe in the power of YOU!
