Welcome to Season 2, Episode 8 of The Conversation Hub with Marc Vaillancourt! This week, I’m delighted to bring you my conversation with Ty Jernstedt.
The theme for this season revolves around “Living An Expat Life.” An expat (short for expatriate) is a person temporarily or permanently residing in a country other than that of their citizenship.
About Ty Jernstedt
Ty Jernstedt was born in Portland, Oregon but his formative years were spent in a support of Chicago, Illinois.
At a young age, he was exposed to the Japanese culture at school. After a trip to Europe in 8th grade and an experience touring with Up with People – Ty’s interest for new cultures and the world outside the US was solidified.
Following college, Ty moved to Japan to complete his Masters and has never looked back! In addition to Japan, he’s lived in Australia and Hong Kong. For the past 10 years, he’s made a life and a living in the great city of Amsterdam in The Netherlands.
