Some projects are worth talking about.
Some people are worth talking with.
Our guest this week, John Oren, is the idea guy being this great project called Coffee4Good.org. Right from the beginning of our conversation I felt a deep connection with John and found myself wishing I lived closer to him so we could share a conversation over a great cup of coffee!
Through conversation, life happens and finds meaning. I found this to be a meaningful conversation for me.
About John Oren and Coffee4Good.org
Born in Marshall, Michigan, John H. Oren has been full of ideas ever since childhood. With a yearning to learn more about the world, John graduated from James Madison College at Michigan State University. He lived overseas in Sao Paulo Brazil, learning Portuguese on the streets and worked for Kellogg Do Brasil. A few years later, faced with a decision between government service or international sales, John chose the latter. An international salesman most of his career, John naturally builds relationships, continuously reads and relishes life-long learning. Utilizing his key strengths as a maximizer and ideator, today he would call himself a serial entrepreneur.
John and his wife have always desired to do more with their lives to bless and help others. In May 2009, this desire, named after the Oren children, became Joshua’s Grace Corporation. Furthermore, the name signifies their relationship with Yeshua and the grace shown to mankind.
Sitting in Moscow one day, wishing he could meet a friend for coffee, John pondered an idea. Wouldn’t it be great to send a virtual coffee to his friend. Even better, take the cost of the coffee and donate to a charity in honor of them.
Coffee4good.org became a reality in 2010.
When close to home John immerses himself with his wife and children, teaching them to hit a baseball or pass a soccer ball. Boating Lake Michigan in the summers, protecting his hobby farm from angry birds or varmints, John delights in being of service to others. Hosting friends and family from around the globe via farm or lake, one can find John manning a hot grill, serving great food, and sharing adventures.
I invite you visit their website and, for just today, skip your favorite coffee drink and use that money to make a difference!Image courtesy of John Oren and Joshua’s Grace Corporation. © All rights reserved. Used with permission.
