Mario Romero and I first met in 1994 – I was the show manager and vocals instructor for Up with People’s Cast E that year. We were both passionate musicians but we liked completely different styles of music. Mario was a master of hip-hop – he had a knack for creating music that was catchy and of the moment.
He had pulse on what was current and what would resonate with his audience. He still does today!
We would get into fun arguing sessions as to who was better, David Foster or Yanni. Just thinking about it makes me smile!
Music was at the heart of everything Mario did and who he was and that remains true today. He’s an accomplished writer, composer, arranger, producer and promoter. His music career has taken him to L.A. but he made a conscious decision to come back home to Denver. And from there, in the mile-high city, Mario is taking on the music world one beat, one measure, one song at a time!
You can hear some of the artists Mario is producing by visiting FreeIgnite.com! You’ll definitely want to check out Adrian Quintana – her stuff is great and it has Mario’s touch all over it!)
