Here are some conversations that caught our attention during the week ending March 19, 2011.
Our suggestions this week:
- Historian and author Jeremi Suri speaks at the Minnesota History Center (broadcasted on Minnesota Public Radio) about America’s long and complicated history in the Middle East, from Iraq in the 1920’s to the present day, and how they have laid the foundation for what is happening in the region today. You can listen to the speech here.
- We are in the midst on major budget talks at both the federal and state level (at least in Minnesota, where I live). WHYY’s Fresh Air had a great interview with Bloomberg News reporter Jesse Drucker on how offshore tax havens save American companies billions. You can listen to her comments here.
- We hosted to great conversation this week for our podcast:
From the Archives:
- Our conversation with Beth Gasser, principal voice of the Confessions of a Moms blog.
