On New Year’s day, I shared with you my three words for 2011. You can read about them right here.
I wanted to update you on how some happening related to the word HEALTH.
My journey toward a healthier lifestyle has been fun. I mentioned in my earlier post that it started back in September 2010. At that time, I was overweight and my relationship with exercise was non-existent. Along with my wife Heather, I joined the Biggest Loser competition offered at my local gym and I am happy to report that I am in much better shape and health. Through that competition, I’ve lost 36 pounds and have discovered a love for exercise.
I’ve continued this commitment to a healthier lifestyle and have re-enrolled for a second 13-week Biggest Loser program at our gym. I am hoping for similar results on the weight loss side of things and am excited about the way I feel and the energy I have.
Heather and I also have set a few big goals for the next 4 months. Together we’ll be running Team Ortho Foundation Get Lucky 7K race on March 19, 2011 in Minneapolis.
On April 16th, Heather and I – along with several other friends – will be running the Earth Day Half Marathon in St. Cloud, MN.
I am excited and a bit nervous about both of these events, but I know that when I cross the finish line, I will feel a great sense of accomplishment. Stepping outside of my comfort zone is what this is all about.
So tell me, how’s the first few weeks of the new year going for you?
