Backward is easy.
It’s in our nature to want to look back. The past is comfortable because we know how it turned out – that’s the beauty of hindsight. Looking back gives us an opportunity to reminisce and tell stories about the good ‘ol days.
Think about it, how many times do you find yourself reliving a past moment? We do this because we feel like we have control of the story. We know the twists and turns because we were there. We find comfort in what we know. Backward is easy.
Forward takes courage.
Moving forward requires us to take a risks. It requires us to “put one foot in front of the other” and trust. Why? Because we don’t know what the outcome will be. It requires us to live in the moment and believe wholeheartedly that the next one will be amazing. Moving forward means we might fail. Moving forward means we might be uncomfortable. Forward takes courage.
You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it. ~ Benjamin Mee
Be informed by your past, but don’t let it define you. Go forward and know that something amazing is waiting for you.
Be well and make it a great day!
