Through conversation, knowledge is shared!
I’ve know our guest this week for the past 10 years and I’ve always been fascinated by the work he does for living. Jim Fahey is an auctioneer – and to say he’s one of the few left might not be too much of a stretch. It’s not that auctioneers aren’t in existence anymore, but the industry sure has changed.
We explore this topic and break down the mechanics of an auctioneer’s chant during our conversation.
Please note, when we get to the “chant” – please note that all bidding is closed! (Wink! Wink!)
About Jim Fahey
Jim Fahey grew up in the family business and has been actively engaged since 1977. He was awarded the designation of the 1990 MN State Bid Calling Champion. He is also a Past President of the MN State Auctioneers Association, past Chairman of the MSAA Legislative Committee, seminar presenter for both State and National Auctioneers Association conferences, 2006 inductee into the Minnesota State Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame, as well as the 2002 recipient of the SW MN Foundation/Blandin Community Leadership Community Service Award. His most recent professional designation was received in February 2008 from the National Auctioneers Association as Benefit Auctioneer Specialist, (B.A.S.). Less than one percent of auctioneers in North America have this specialized training and designation.
