During my time in Up with People, both as a student and later as a staff, is where I met Scott Appleton, our guest for this week. I had the opportunity to work side-by-side with Scott during the summer of 1989 as we help the 4 summer casts of UWP get ready for a new show and a new travel year. What a blast it was to work with him and to learn from him.
Scott is an accomplished musician, composer and guitar player. For the past 25 years he’s been involved in the music business in one way or another. He currently serves as the “guitar tech” for Alex Lifeson of the band Rush! He’s been with Rush for the past few years and is currently on the European leg of the Clockwork Angels tour.
Scott was featured in The Globe and Mail, a Canadian newspaper based out of Toronto, for a feature called: Six-string wizards: Meet the unsung heroes of rock ’n’ roll. If you are a guitar aficionado and want to get a taste of the type of gear Scott manages for Alex Lifeson, be sure to check out this video!
